High Desert Healthcare & Massage has four Certified Rolfers, all of whom are also experienced massage therapists, two of whom are Certified Advanced Rolfers, and one of whom is also a practitioner of Rolfing ® Movement Integration. All four of our Rolfers received their training at the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration, which was founded by Dr. Ida P. Rolf in 1971. Rolfing ® is an effective technique for helping people to feel greater ease in their bodies, decreasing symptoms of pain and discomfort. Rolfers work the soft tissues and joints to help release patterns of tension and bracing that develop from stress, injuries, poor posture, repetitive motions and workplace strains. This creates more length and an increased range of motion, improves posture and flexibility, relieves or eliminates aches and pains, and balance the whole body. Individual sessions are useful for quick relief of specific symptoms, while a series of ten sessions will address the root causes of dysfunction. The work is kept at a depth that creates sensations of ease, release, expansion and lengthening.
