Cathy Louisell
Cathy Louisell first became interested in body/mind integration after receiving Rolfing® treatments. A need to address her own physical pain and tightness led her to train as a massage therapist. She graduated from the Boulder School of Massage Therapy (BSMT) in 1981. She was hired in 1984 as a Swedish Massage instructor at BSMT through 1986 when she went on to study Cranial Sacral Osteopathy with Dr. Hugh Milne in 1987 at Esalen Institute. She studied Continuum Movement with Emilie Conrad from 1989 until Emilie’s death in 2014 and sustains her Continuum practice with other Continuum teachers and practitioners; Chi Nei Tsang (Chinese visceral manipulation) Gi Gong and Gi Gong Teacher Training with Caryn Diel at White Cloud Institute and Dr. Pat Fields’ Quantum Healing. Sound Frequency Theory and Therapy, neurological research, many forms of creative movement, and Energy Medicine are a regular part of her continuing education in the fields of bodywork, movement and consciousness. She teaches creative movement incorporating Continuum and Gi Gong theory, neurological research, kinesthetic and deep sensory awareness, sound (vocal & instrument) practices with our emotional desires and spiritual curiosity. And, of course, play, the exquisite beauty and delight we feel when fully engaged in our being!
Cathy’s understanding of a unified field, our human interaction with it and innate body fluidity influences all her work. Within this context she communicates with her clients to create the desired environment and techniques for their session. She includes her love of nature, animals, plants and the primary energies of the four elements in her contact with her clients. Her work incorporates Swedish Massage, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Chi Nei Tsang, and Reflexology. She also practices Barefoot Shiatsu and Prenatal Massage.
The ability to embrace and enjoy living in a physical body has been Cathy’s passion. She loves developing her being through movement and bodywork. Nurturing people, offering joy and ease is her pleasure.
